I've started a series of graphics called "No Original" It address the concepts of reproduction. I'm kinda picking up where Warhol left off, Can you imagine if he had access to the internet. It would have rocked his world. Did you know that the majority of art is viewed through some form or reproduction? How many of ya'll have ever seen the Mona Lisa in person. Yes, some of ya'll but the majority know of the painting and could identify it, but have never seen the original. It's interesting that art has run away from the galleries for the sake of exposure. This series is intended to challenge to notion of original art and high art vs low art, and to look super fly on yer fave wall.
Here's the story on the graphic. Most of my friends won't answer there phones if they don't recognize the number. I always thought that was pretty shady, (unless one was terribly busy) they should answer their freakin phone even if it's just to say I'll call you back. One evening I received a strange phone call. It must have been about 2a Sunday night when some weirdo called me and went on a rampage about how he received my # from a friend and that I must do his band's album art...blah and blah, I was sleeping.
Each 13”x19” print is printed on archival matte paper, signed and numbered. Get em while they’re here. Only 50 of each will be printed.
